Good industry conversations need time. ASSIST gave us plenty of it.
From October 6-8, the Guardhouse team joined security professionals at The Menger Hotel in San Antonio, Texas, for our first ASSIST Conference. We left with a stronger sense of the local security community and plenty of reasons to stay in touch.

A smaller event, built for real conversations
ASSIST is a smaller, local conference, and that shaped everything about it. There was room to talk properly. People shared how they run their businesses, what is working and what is not, without the rush of a crowded exhibition floor.

That made a difference for our team. Every security business has its own priorities. Hearing them first-hand, rather than through a quick pitch or a swapped business card, helps us understand what matters to the people running day-to-day operations.
Not every conversation needs an immediate outcome. Some lead to a partnership. Others start with an exchange of ideas or a new face in the industry. Trust takes time, and a good first conversation is where it starts.
Thoughtfully organized
The event felt intentional. The format, the venue, and the atmosphere all encouraged people to talk to each other. Thank you to the organizers and the ASSIST team for putting it together so well.
A strong local community
One highlight was seeing so many Dallas-area professionals in the room. When people from the same region meet, it is easier to share knowledge, learn from other businesses, and find ways to work together.

“ASSIST 2026 was fantastic! We left with a renewed sense of community among our fellow Texans, especially seeing so many Dallas professionals show up this year. The event was a great reminder that meaningful relationships are at the heart of our industry. We’re excited for what’s ahead, from more DFW industry events to stronger partnerships, expanding our network, and having fun along the way!”

Keeping the momentum going
We came away energized, and we plan to build on it. That means more Dallas-Fort Worth industry events, staying in touch with the people we met and looking for ways to work alongside security businesses across the region.
It also reflects how we approach the industry at Guardhouse. We listen first, then build tools that fit how security operations actually run.
Thank you to everyone who welcomed our team, shared their experience, or took the time to get to know us. We look forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones.
